Cody was one of the top-ranked junior players in the country and one of the most heavily recruited players for college during his junior career.  Cody accepted a scholarship to the University of Texas where he enjoyed a career that included NCAA All-America Honors and a 2012 NCAA Team National Championship.

Cody made his professional debut at the 2013 FedEx St. Jude Classic via a sponsor exemption after graduating from the University of Texas in May 2013.  Cody spent 2015 and 2016 on the Tour where he collected eight Top-10 finishes

In October 2016, Cody secured his place on the PGA Tour for the 2016/ 2017 season. He finished the year off with 2 top 10’s and a second place finish at the United Leasing & Finance Championship. His final ranking on the Tour for the 2016 season was 40th.

At the Sanderson Farms Championship, Gribble picked up his maiden PGA Tour victory. He began the final round at the Country Club of Jackson one shot off the pace. The tournament was wide open but Gribble put his foot to the floor on the back nine. He made birdies at the 11th, 13th, 15th, 16th and 17th holes to streak away from the pack.

Playing in just his eighth event on the circuit, the left-hander looked like a cool and composed veteran as he closed the tournament out. His victory has earned him $756,000, 300 FedExCup points and exempt status on tour through the 2018-19 season. The four-stroke win was the second largest in tournament history, trailing Frank Conner’s five-stroke win in 1988.

Cody finished his rookie season on the PGA Tour in 87th place on the FedEx Cup points list.

Cody was a two-time Texas UIL Class 4A State Individual Champion and one of the inaugural recipients of the Byron Nelson International Junior Golf Award.
