Beau Hossler, who recently received the Haskins Award as the nation’s top collegiate golfer, announced today that he has turned professional and signed an exclusive, worldwide representation agreement with Dallas-based Hambric Sports Management.

Hossler gained global notoriety at the 2012 United States Open after taking the lead late in the second round as a precocious teenager, and has now become one of the most decorated and highly-regarded amateurs in recent memory. Currently ranked #1 in Golfweek Magazine’s Men’s Amateur Rankings and a consensus First Team All- American at the University of Texas, his decision to turn professional follows an epic junior year in which he captured five collegiate victories and the prestigious Jones Cup Invitational. However, his dominant season ended abruptly when he tore the labrum in his left shoulder during his semifinal match at the NCAA Championship in early June. Hossler has since undergone successful surgery to repair the injury and is expected to return stronger than ever this fall.

“Needless to say, we are thrilled that Beau has placed his confidence and trust in us,” said David Winkle, President of HSM, who will serve as Hossler’s agent. “Beau has one of the most complete skill sets of any player I have ever seen coming out of college and has the “golf IQ” to match. I expect great things from Beau and know he expects the same.”

At only 21-years-of-age, Hossler has already competed in six United States Amateur Championships and three United States Opens, a remarkable feat in itself. Following rehabilitation from his injury, he will seek sponsor exemptions from 2017 PGA TOUR and Web.com Tour events, in pursuit of his exempt playing privileges.

“I chose Hambric Sports because I value class, integrity, and loyalty above all else in my life and want to make sure that I surround myself with a team that has the same priorities in mind,” said Hossler. “I am confident that we will be successful in our endeavors, and will do it in a respectful and professional fashion. I also know that I will have total support from Hambric Sports through the peaks and valleys that are inevitable in a golf career.”

“We are excited to welcome Beau to the Hambric Sports family and look forward to helping him achieve all of his lofty professional goals,” said Rocky Hambric, HSM Founder and CEO. “Beau is the kind of individual who simply will not be denied, a trait that is the best predictor of professional success.”

HSM’s Hossler announcement comes on the heels of client Dustin Johnson’s incredible run of late, highlighted by victories at the United States Open and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Now ranked second in the Official World Golf Ranking, Johnson becomes the seventh player to win a major championship while under the management of Hambric, Winkle and HSM Vice President Blake Smith. In addition to Johnson, HSM’s current list of clients includes World #15 Brooks Koepka, 1986 PGA Champion Bob Tway, Golf Channel personality Brandel Chamblee, numerous PGA TOUR and European Tour veterans and noted golf instructor Randy Smith. The firm specializes in the management and marketing of professional golfers, seeking and negotiating income- producing opportunities within the golf industry and corporate world on a global basis.
