MICHELLE ZHANG SIGNS WITH HAMBRIC SPORTS

Thursday, September 21, 2023

Hambric Sports is proud to announce the signing of rising star Michelle Zhang, a former SMU standout who has enjoyed immediate success since joining the Epson Tour in June of 2023.

Zhang made a splash in women’s collegiate golf during her lone season at SMU, with victories at both the 2023 American Conference Championship and the 2023 Briar’s Creek Invitational. She then ended her collegiate career at the NCAA Championship, finishing in a tie for 5th, only three shots behind the eventual champion.

Prior to collegiate golf, Zhang enjoyed success at both the junior and amateur levels, with victories at the 2022 VOA Classic Girls Championship, the 2021 Sergio Garcia AJGA Championship and the 2020 Jordan Spieth AJGA Championship. She also qualified for the 2022 US Women’s Open Championship at only age 17 years-of-age.

While attending SMU, Zhang broke many of their collegiate records, including Best Scoring Average, Rounds of Par or Better and Birdies Made in a Single Season. Not surprisingly, Zhang was named the 2023 Freshman of the Year for the American Athletic Conference.

Since turning professional in June, Michelle has made 10 consecutive cuts on the Epson Tour, with a career-best finish of tied for 3rd at the Guardian Championship. Currently ranked 44th on the Race for the Card rankings, Zhang will continue her pursuit of LPGA playing privileges throughout the remainder of the 2023 Epson Tour schedule.

“I’m thrilled to become a part of the Hambric Sports team and really excited to be working with them moving forward”, said Michelle. “As I continue my professional golf journey and advance my career, it’s reassuring to have their extensive experience and unwavering support by my side”.

“We are really excited that Michelle has chosen to join the Hambric Sports family as she settles into the professional ranks of the Ladies game”, said Rocky Hambric, Founder of Hambric Sports. “Michelle embodies all of the qualities that we look for in a player both on and off the course and we look forward to being by her side every step of the way on this journey together.”
