SCHEFFLER VICTORIOUS ONCE AGAIN IN AUGUSTA

Monday, April 15, 2024

Scottie Scheffler earned his second Green Jacket in three years, when he shot a final round of 68 (four-under) to finish The Masters on -11 and win by a convincing 4 strokes.

Scheffler came into the final round with a one-shot lead over Collin Morikawa and started the day with two consecutive pars.

Scottie built on his advantage with a birdie on the third hole. He had bogeys on the fourth and seventh, but finished the front nine strong, with birdies on the eighth and ninth holes.

Another birdie came on the 10th, but a shot was dropped on the par-4 11th hole. Scottie made bounce-back birdies on 13 and 14 to maintain a three stroke lead and his final birdie of the tournament came on the 16th, where he hit his tee shot to approximately ten foot and holed the putt.

This gave Scottie a comfortable lead heading up the final hole at Augusta National, where he hit his third shot to 4 feet, rolling in his par putt and claiming his second Masters title.

“It’s hard to put into words how special this is”, said Scottie. “It’s been a long week, a grind of a week. The golf course was so challenging and to be sitting here wearing this jacket again and getting to take it home is extremely special”.

With this win, Scottie has extended his lead as the World Number One on the Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup standings, where he was atop, thanks to coming into the first Major of the year having already had two victories in his three previous starts, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship.

Congratulations, Scottie – we are so happy for you and proud of you!
