Scheffler wins Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship

It was a second Korn Ferry Tour title for Scottie Scheffler on Sunday, as he picked up the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, in Ohio.

A final round of 4-under 67 was all that was needed for Scheffler to finish on 12-under par and claim victory by two shots, over three others, including Beau Hossler.

After making birdies at his fourth, fifth and sixth holes on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University, Scheffler dropped his only shot of the day with a bogey on seven.

More birdies followed from Scottie at twelve and sixteen and these were enough to seal his second victory of the season and give him plenty of confidence heading into his rookie season on the PGA Tour.

“This definitely does a lot for my confidence”, Scheffler said. “It’s nice to get another win, it’s a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to the next couple of weeks and then getting the season started next month”.

“My goal at the beginning of the year was to hopefully get the No. 1 spot and it’s nice to be in position to lock that up”, said Scottie, who is now Number 1 on the Korn Ferry Tour rankings.

It was a good day too for Beau Hossler, who earned his PGA Tour card back, having posted four sub 70 rounds in Ohio.

This season, Beau made 16 cuts in 27 starts in his sophomore season, leaving himself 145th in the FedEx Cup.

Well done to both Scottie on securing another victory, just one week after earning his PGA Tour card and to Beau, who successfully earned back his playing rights for next season.
