SUNDAY 65 SEES NORRMAN CLAIM HORIZON IRISH OPEN TITLE

Monday, September 11, 2023

A stunning bogey-free 65 from Vincent Norrman at the K Club on Sunday, saw him seal his 2nd DP World Tour title at the Horizon Irish Open by one shot.

Vincent began his final round six shots off the pace and opened up with six straight pars, before his first birdie of the day came at the seventh hole after a twelve foot putt.

Play was suspended due to thunder and lightning as Norrman was about to tee off on the tenth and when play resumed, he made six birdies in an impressive run of eight holes, seeing him climb the leaderboard at a rapid pace.

An incredible up and down for par on the 16th was backed up by another impressive par save on the 17th, leaving just the par-five 18th to play, which saw Vincent make birdie and be the clubhouse leader on -14.

A lengthy wait ensued whilst the final groups completed their rounds, but fourteen under par was enough to secure victory for the young Swede, which followed up from his maiden win at the Barbasol Championship in July.

“It means everything,” Norrman said. “It’s such a cool event to play, the fans have been incredible and I really had a fun week out there. It was a long wait but I’m super happy. I can’t believe this happened. I’m over the moon.”

With this win, Vincent has jumped to 7th on the Race to Dubai rankings and 76th on the Official World Golf Rankings.

Congratulations, Vincent. We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see where this journey takes you.
