Zander Lombard has today announced his attachment to the prestigious Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club, located in Gauteng, South Africa. Having been named as the winner of the 2019 and 2018 World Golf Awards for the best course in Africa and South Africa, it is an attachment that Zander is very proud of and he will display the logo on the belly of his golf bag, as he competes around the world.
This wonderful estate, which opened in 1890, has hosted 9 South African Open Championships and 11 Joburg Open Championships, to name a few. Steeped in tradition and history, yet setting the pace in club hospitality and management, it continues to be one of the most prestigious clubs of which to be a member.
“Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club hosts 2 of my favourite courses to play in South Africa and for me to now be an Ambassador for the club is a huge honour”, said Lombard. “It is a fantastic club to be associated with and I really can’t wait to showcase what it has to offer on the international golfing stage”.
Zander finished the European Tour season ranked 105th on the Race to Dubai rankings and tees it up this week at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, where he looks to continue his rise up the World Golf rankings.
“On behalf of Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club we are delighted to welcome Zander as a ambassador to the Club. He is an incredible young talent and a wonderful, passionate ambassador for golf. His sportsmanship and outlook reflect the same values and vision for our Club and he will be a fantastic guiding influence for inspiring the next generation of golfers in South Africa”, said Chris Bentley, CEO at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club. “We know he will wear our logo with pride and our facilities will provide Zander the support he requires to keep progressing his career and lifting many more coveted trophies in the future. We look forward to working with Zander and the immense value he will add to our members”.
