His vast experience in player management, including the challenges and opportunities of managing three major championship winners, has contributed to him becoming one of the most respected and popular figures in player management. Golfweek Magazine named Winkle one of its “Top Guns” amongst player managers in a 2003 issue focusing on the business. Winkle is a 1984 graduate of the University of Texas, where he was a member of the golf team for two years.
In May of 2000, Blake joined Hambric Sports, following his graduation from Texas Tech University. Smith received a degree in Business Management, and was a member of the golf team for four years. As the son of renowned golf instructor Randy Smith, he has been exposed to virtually every aspect of the game, as well as the golf business. Smith’s primary responsibilities at Hambric Sports are player management and corporate marketing.
