During the course of his career, Rocky has managed professionals who have won seven major championships, two of whom were PGA Players of the Year, and one of whom was the PGA TOUR’s leading money winner. It seems that professional success has continually followed the players whom he has managed. Hambric Sports has marketed and negotiated some of golf’s biggest endorsement deals, for players such as Corey Pavin, Phil Mickelson, Charles Howell, Justin Leonard and Larry Nelson, and has been named one of golf’s most powerful agents by the media in four successive decades. Hambric Sports was among the first in the industry to hire a full-time in-house public relations professional to help his players deal with today’s ever-increasing media attention. He has been recognized as a visionary in the player management industry. The golf media, universities, sports marketing promoters, and golf equipment manufacturers frequently seek his knowledge.
David began his career as a Player Manager with Cornerstone Sports in April of 1987, and re-teamed with Hambric Sports in June of 2000. He quickly developed his management skills under the tutelage of Hambric, and through his integrity and unyielding devotion, has developed one of the most loyal client lists in the business. His vast experience in player management, including the challenges and opportunities of managing three major championship winners, has contributed to him becoming one of the most respected and popular figures in player management. Golfweek Magazine named Winkle one of its “Top Guns” amongst player managers in a 2003 issue focusing on the business. Winkle is a 1984 graduate of the University of Texas, where he was a member of the golf team for two years.
In May of 2000, Blake joined Hambric Sports, following his graduation from Texas Tech University. Smith received a degree in Business Management, and was a member of the golf team for four years. As the son of renowned golf instructor Randy Smith, he has been exposed to virtually every aspect of the game, as well as the golf business. Smith’s primary responsibilities at Hambric Sports are player management and corporate marketing.
A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Jordan joins Hambric Sports as an alumnus of the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sports Management at the University of Massachusetts having earned his MS in 2011. Jordan has amassed considerable experience across the sporting landscape having operated in the partnership consulting, athlete sponsorship, consumer strategy, client services, brand activation, digital media strategy, business-to-business sales and executive hospitality spaces on behalf of emerging brands as well as established Fortune 500 clients including MasterCard, Lexus, Delta Air Lines & Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Walker joined Hambric Sports in 2017 after playing on the Cal Men’s Golf Team. He graduated with a degree from the prestigious Haas School of Business and was a two-time Pac-12 Academic All American.
Ricardo joined Hambric Sports in 2017, holding a degree in Business Management from the University of San Diego (2001), and a MBA from Pepperdine U. (2013). He worked as a marketing manager for Avon and Lexus before joining the Spanish Golf Federation in 2007 as the director of the Professional Committee, overseeing all the education and competition for professionals in Spain. At the end of 2010, Ricardo was appointed to develop and manage the Federation’s first elite player development and college placement program in the U.S.
