Hossler defeated in Houston Open playoff

Friday, April 13, 2018

At the Houston Open, a final round of 67 from Beau Hossler, was enough to secure a playoff for the title with Ian Poulter, but unfortunately lost out to a par on the first extra hole.

Hossler overcame a three-shot deficit with four straight birdies on the back nine. He had a chance to win on the 18th in regulation with a 30-foot birdie putt, which trickled over the right edge of the cup.

A 20-foot birdie putt made by Poulter on his 72nd hole, forced a play-off with Hossler, and he went on to claim the title.

Finishing the week off on 19 under par (269), Beau will have to wait a little longer to secure his first tour victory. It is clear that the breakthrough is not far away for him though, having finished inside the top 25 five times this season on the PGA Tour, including three top-10’s.

Well done on another great week on the PGA Tour Beau!
