Lorenzo Scalise is one of Italy’s up and coming golfing stars and finished his amateur career ranked 23rd  in the World Amateur Rankings. He turned professional in September 2018.

Lorenzo competed on the Challenge Tour for the 2019 season and went on to finish 30th on the Road to Mallorca rankings, in his rookie season. He is competing this season on both the European and Challenge Tours, as he has status on both.

Finishing 30th on the rankings was thanks to a solo 2nd place finish at the Italian Challenge, which catapulted him up the rankings and secured him status for the rest of the season, as well as a full Challenge Tour card for 2020.

As an amateur, 2018 was a successful season for Scalise. He claimed victory at the Yale Spring Invitational, represented the Continent of Europe at the St. Andrew’s Links Trophy (winners), represented Team International at the Arnold Palmer Cup and was selected to represent Italy at the upcoming World Amateur Championship where he finished tied 8th in the individual standings.

Whilst representing University of Tennessee in 2018, Lorenzo was also runner-up at the Augusta Invitational, T3 at the SEC Championship, had seven top 5 finishes in 11 collegiate events and set the college scoring average record for one season of 70.34.

Some of Lorenzo’s individual accolades in 2018 included First Team All SEC Honors, 2nd Team All American Honors and being a semi-finalist of the Jack Nicklaus Award. He was also named to the PING All-Southeast Region Team and picked up the SEC Men’s Golfer of the Week award in April.

In 2017, Lorenzo claimed victory at the Italian Amateur Championship, finished runner-up at the European Amateur Championship and was also the Low-Amateur at the Italian Open on the European Tour.
