Robin Dawson is one of Ireland’s up and coming golfing stars and made his professional debut at the Portugal Masters in September of 2018.
Ranked 8th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings upon turning professional, Robin had an enjoyable 2018 amateur season, claiming victory at the Flogas Irish Amateur Open and finishing in runner-up position at both The Amateur Championship and the European Amateur Championship.
Robin was also selected to represent Europe at the Bonallack Trophy, Great Britain and Ireland at the St. Andrew’s Trophy and Ireland at both the World Amateur Team Championships and the European Amateur Championships.
In addition to this year, 2017 was also a successful season for Dawson, recording runner-up finishes at the South African Stroke Play Championship, The Cape Province Open and the European Nations Cup in Sotogrande.
A proven winner, Robin has not only claimed victory at the Irish Amateur Open, but also at the World University Championships in 2016, the European University Championships in 2015 and the Irish Boys Amateur Open in 2013.
Robin competed at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in October 2018 and finished tied 14th in the team tournament.
At Second Stage of European Tour Q-School in November of 2018, Robin finished in a tie for 6th place, qualifying for the Final Stage.
In just his fourth start as a professional, Robin secured his full Challenge Tour card and European Tour status for 2019 at Final Stage of European Tour Q-School. He is competing on both the European and Challenge Tours for the season, with his full focus on earning a European Tour card for 2020.
Robin has a huge interest in horses and completed an honours degree in Equine Business at Maynooth University.
