Ranked 29th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, Luis Gagne made the decision to turn professional in June 2019.
2018/ 2019 was a successful season for Gagne, as he finished Low Amateur at the 2018 US Open, represented Costa Rica at the Eisenhower Trophy and went on to represent Team International at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup.
Whilst representing LSU in 2019, Luis was also runner up at the Latin American Amateur Championship, runner up at the Abierto Sudamerican Amateur Championship, had five top 10 finishes in 10 collegiate events and has set the college scoring average record for one season of 70.34.
Individual accolades in 2019 for the Costa Rican included being nominated for the Ben Hogan Award.
2017 saw Luis earn selection on the PING All-American Third Team, PING Southeast All-Regional Team, SEC First Team and was a semi-finalist of the Jack Nicklaus Award.
In 2016, Luis claimed victory at the David Toms Intercollegiate Championship, finished 3rd at the Prestige at PGA WEST and finished tied third at the SEC Championship.
Off the golf course, Luis has picked up All American Academic Honors and four SEC Academic Honors.
